Flippin' for a Book!

As I mentioned in my previous post, my men love each other! This FLIP clip is sweet evidence to that admiration...

We recently purchased a FLIP camcorder, and I can't get enough!  It's simple to use, simple to store, and the videos are simple to upload.  It's a personal favorite, a high-ranking No Babble Buy...

For the curious Costco shoppers, FLIP's are currently on sale!

While I'm on the subject of wholesale shopping, I also recently purchased a number of memorable book collections for Aksel.

The Berenstain Bears Easy-to-Read Set

I loved being read to as a child, and I remember, in particular, countless Saturday mornings with my parents in bed.  My father would read The Berenstain Bears over and over and over!  In fact, the first sentence I recall successfully reading went a little something like this...

In the big tree house down a sunny dirt road deep in Bear Country - trouble with manners.

I've made it an effort to start reading more consistently to my little learner - at least 20 minutes per day!  Yesterday, for example, I read Love You Forever.  I don't know if I'm hormonal or what, but I broke down, in tears mind you, reading this classic on Aksel's carpet.  It was sentimental to say the least, borderline creepy in parts, and altogether soppy-n-true!

Love You ForeverA young woman holds her newborn son and looks at him lovingly.  Softly she sings to him:

I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be.

I read & wrote a lot as a young thing, and I credit this mostly to my parents.  Thanks, M & D!

In fact, I often smuggled my father's mini flashlight in bed with me at night.  As soon as my parents would shut the door, I'd devour book upon book upon book.  A voracious reader I was...

Aksel, it's your reading turn now!
