A Baby Want Ad!

If I were to pen a personal classified ad for my chubbo bubbo, it would probably go a little something like this...

(Think match.com® for babies!)

AKSEL from Charleston writes:

Tall, dark, and plump seven-month-old seeking a little lady with a bob. In order to maintain my attention, señorita must be...

(1) bilingual with chestnut-colored hair

(2) a friend to all shoe-wearing animals

(3) willing to ask for directions when lost

(4) a light-packing globetrotter suited for travel in bright clothes

(FYI:  I like older women, and for me, it's all in the way she walks!)

Are you just a little curious as to whom my child deems his ideal?  Well, if you're a new mother and you don't know yet, just you wait, you'll know soon enough!

First, a back story.

My child loves to watch television!  Aksel is entranced by it actually, but... DON'T BE CONFUSED!  I'm not some sort of deadbeat mom who places her lonely child in front a screen to wither away and answer life's questions on his own!  He is totally and completely and really mesmerized by the colors, sounds, and songs of preschool programming.

He loves and jerks his head around at full-speed to watch the following shows:

  • Yo Gabba Gabba (AKSEL'S FAVORITE!)
  • Wonder Pets
  • Ni Hao Ka-Lain, and
  • Dora the Explorer
I'm told this baby apple doesn't fall far from his momma tree!

To take it a step further, my parents who agree on very, very few things, both insist I was wholly intrigued by PBS as a kid.  In particular, Sesame Street.  They tell me I watched the same hour-long episode twice a day, and during each showing, demanded silence as I sat 24 inches from the screen.

To the credit of PBS show creators, I was reading early, and excelled in the classroom.  I hope nickjr® pulls through for my laddy!

Now, back to the cookiebatch.com® point of this entry.

My little man, much like his mommy before him, is in love with a television doodle. Aksel is desperately seeking Dora.  (As a youngster, I had the tot-hots for piano-playing Schroeder, from You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown!)

His infatuation with this fictional character leads me to believe --

To be blog continued...

I was Lucy in my high-school production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown!
I sang this song to a GIRL dressed up as Schroeder.  The love affair died at that point!
