I talk about being a mother all the time, but rarely do I talk about being a partner, or a wife.
I touch on this subject, because I did something new...
I apologized to my husband for being a bitch.
Out of the blue, and on my own free will, I shocked both myself and my husband by saying the auspicious S-word. You know, S-O-R-R-Y!
By the way, sorry for the B-word.
Plain and simple, I have goals for myself as a mother. Shouldn't I have goals for myself as a wife, too?
Maybe everyone else out there already does, but I'm just realizing now, how I justify my MOM-zilla ways.
I mean, I'm not looking to be the next Donna Reed or anything, but I don't want to be Roseanne, either!
It's my goal to be a better partner and communicator. To start, I think I should take some advice from all the mommy books I read, and start complimenting/praising my partner for all that he does.
Thanks for making dinner, honey! Thanks for doing the dishes, too!
No seriously, I'm thankful! I love you, boo-boo!
