Growing up, we had a piano. An antique, upright grand piano. It's a shame I never learned to play. It looked a little something like this...
In fact, Aksel loves listening to music. In particular, he gets quite a thrill playing with his LeapFrog Learn & Groove Musical Table
. To take it a step further, I believe he crawled over the other afternoon and in a very rudimentary way (obviously) babbled the ABC melody.

My mother bought the piece on a whim, having convinced my father she'd learn to play. Between you and me however, I think she mastered On Top of Old Smokey
, and then threw the music towel in.
But that's not the point I wish to make. Regardless of whether or not my mother played the piano well, there was music in our home. And I'm actively carrying the tradition on...
I love being Aksel's music teacher! I'm having fun, and so is he.
We love ours! What are your thoughts?

Gillian, I think you need to buy a piano! lucky for you we have our baby grand for sale... Like your mom we had good intentions but never learned to play. There is less than 40 hours on this piano, its a beauty and its a smaller one (4'11"), we have a small house in Old Winderemere and it tucks nicely in a corner... If you know of anyone who may be interested... 323-2970/Fred it's a Young Chang $4500, trust me, for this quality it's a deal! Great job on your blog btw!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, Barbara! It is a personal dream of mine to play the piano, and in this life, I'm certain I'll accomplish it. It just isn't the time for me. I will be on the lookout for a buyer though. I hope you both are doing well, and give my best to Fred!
