Like most women out there, I love beauty products!
And like most ladies, I've been on the hunt for the perfect ones since I was a young consumer.
(I've tried 'em all! Trust me.)
With warmer weather approaching though, I'd love to share my favorites. My feel good, look great essentials...
If you will recall, I recommended Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Bar as my #1 TOP facial product. Now, an explanation as to why...
When I was around six months pregnant, I broke out substantially. Concentrated mainly in the area of my temples and hairline, I was a bumpy mess. That compounded with my changing size... phew!
Before I go any further, I must come clean... I'm vain. I can't say from where it came (my vanity issues)? Society, perhaps? Maybe my mother? I was picked on a lot as a kid for being different. Whatever the cause, I've been very aware of my appearance, and like I mentioned (here and here), I've rarely been satisfied with myself.
All whinging aside, motherhood has made me a better person. As a whole, I'm less consumed with my outward self, and more concerned with finding inner peace, contentment, and answers.
That's all beside the point though. Back to SKIN...
During this blemish nightmare, it was recommended I try Cetaphil
(by a man, no less) as a hopeful remedy to my aggravating zits. He also advised me to stop, for the time being, using multiple products, and ones that contained salicylic acid.
At the point of his suggestion, I was ready to try anything! So, I did just as he said, and guess what?
In little over two weeks, my skin was clear and looked amazing! Hence the reason I endorse Cetaphil
as my facial soap of choice.
As something of a #1 TOP skin behavior recommendation, I can't stress the importance of limited sun exposure, and consistent sunscreen use.
Before I start preaching the merits of pale (or spray-tanned) skin however, you must know, I haven't always adhered to this principle.
In reality, I spent my entire childhood and college-years, basking in the sun without sunscreen. I had acceptably dark skin, and I didn't burn. No big deal, I thought. If it wasn't broken, why fix it?
Somewhere in my mid-twenties though, I noticed a persistent line in the middle of my forehead. It bothered me! Not to mention, my skin was freckling and looked dull. So, I acknowledged things in the sun had to change.
Basically, I started using sunscreen every time I went to the beach, and more important, I applied it throughout the course of my stay. I also purchased a daily moisturizer with an SPF 30.
Since this behavioral change, my skin in total looks better. In fact, the line also seems to have diminished, or has ceased in spreading.
With this all being said, I am NOT a dermatologist. I only know, and recommend, what has worked personally for me. Good luck finding what works best for you, and I hope I've been of help.
Should you have any questions, feel free to message me at any time. Now, here's to graceful aging and clear skin (fingers-crossed)...

Today, I'm going to focus on what I started last night - SKIN CARE.

Simply, I love the smell (and tingle)! It reminds me of my youth.
