When I'm feeling particularly down about our situation, the autism that is, stories like this put things back in perspective for me.
Or when I watch commercials like the one below, I realize how truly blessed I am.
Because autism is not Tay-Sachs. It isn't cancer, either.
Minus a few social shortcomings, my little guy, for the most part, is thriving. And I don't, for one minute, take that for granted.
On the contrary, I am incredibly thankful, grateful my child doesn't live in pain. I'm beyond happy for his smile.
