For His Smile

When I'm feeling particularly down about our situation, the autism that is, stories like this put things back in perspective for me.

Or when I watch commercials like the one below, I realize how truly blessed I am.

Because autism is not Tay-Sachs.  It isn't cancer, either.

Minus a few social shortcomings, my little guy, for the most part, is thriving.  And I don't, for one minute, take that for granted.

On the contrary, I am incredibly thankful, grateful my child doesn't live in pain.  I'm beyond happy for his smile.

On that note, I think I'll kiss him a thousand times today...

(If you're happy and you know it, will you vote?)

  4. Wow, great post with awesome perspective. I love how you keep your mind in the right place--I imagine it must not always be easy to do--but with a smile like that, who could blame you for happiness?

Thanks for sharing that thoughtful post at Rub Some Dirt On It.
